A major mistake companies make when conducting online business is to believe their website is properly optimized or worse yet, not understand the importance of website promotion. The most beautifully designed, concise, innovative and easily navigable website is useless if no one can see it. An estimated 70% of web users never go past the first page of major search engines with only 4% going beyond page three. Essentially, this means that your website is practically invisible if it fails to get into the top three pages with top page ranking desirable for companies that actually want to be a success.

Failure to promote your website ensures it remains in the background, destined never to see the light of day. The most infuriating thing many companies do is to spend a small fortune on web designers while forgetting to splash out on a marketing team. A website that makes the first page of the Google and Yahoo search engine rankings is worth its weight in gold. Remember, if you fail to properly promote your website, rest assured, your competitor will promote theirs and make the first page of the search engines. This will essentially wipe you out.
There are a host of different methods of website promotion such as banner ads and Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising. This can cost thousands of dollars and might not even be effective. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) on the other hand, is relatively inexpensive and is a tried and tested way to get your website seen online. SEO is essentially a method of using techniques such as adding links and carefully placed keywords within your website in a manner that attracts the attention of search engine spiders that trawl the web. A well thought out SEO campaign will cost very little and is likely to shoot your website to the top of the search engine rankings.
Keywords
Content is king when it comes to SEO. An increasing number of organizations foolishly believe in keyword stuffing when it comes to promoting their websites. They are of the opinion that a 4% keyword density is the best method of achieving success. This is an extremely flawed system because Google and other search engines penalize such practices by declaring the site to be spam. What many website owners don’t understand is that search engines compare each site to their top ranking sites in the same niche. Top ranking websites generally have a keyword density of between 1-2%. This means that sites with a much higher density are red-flagged and kicked off the rankings.
Another website promotion tip involves using a title of between 5-8 descriptive words for all your webpages. Remove unnecessary words from the title. When your page is found, the page title will show up on search engines and be hyperlinked. Always use your company name and some keywords describing the business on your site’s homepage. Titles are among the first things search engine spiders look at. Therefore, your titles are the key to online success.
Instead of spending thousands of dollars and weeks of time on web design, start planning your website promotion strategy today in order to be seen by millions of prospective customers around the world. Once your website is in the public eye, you can then start worrying about making it more aesthetically pleasing.

, really I think it’s cleverly built and has a ton of potential. Do you mind if I suggest a few things though? For example…your html tags are a bit screwy on my browser, could be my fault but that kinda worries me because it’ll affect how google sees your blog.
